ReceptionThe Winchester Guildhall is the beautiful location for the reception, in a wood panelled room complete with Minstrel's gallery we will feast on a variety of foods from the buffet - we've graciously included a vegetarian option so you won't have to eat the table flowers instead. The reception starts at 1pm - we'll be having a few official photos in the Abby Gardens next door, that will mostly be Anna & Matthew with the best man etc - there will be plenty of opportunity for you to get photos of and with them at other times. The food should be starting at around 1:30pm - this should mean that the guests in attendance won't have to starve before getting something to eat! There will be the usual wine and champagne available but as the reception is ending fairly early we won't be having an open bar. After the speeches (Matthew and his Best Man (David his brother) making fools of themselves in front of a crowd, one of their favourite activities!) and everyone has recovered enough we will move into another room for a coffee and a slice of wedding cake and hopefully a chance to chat to us a bit too. Mr & Mrs Evans (!!) will be leaving around 6pm so they can catch a picture with the sunset, you can hang around and continue to eat cake and drink tea and coffee until 7pm when the Ushers will... Usher you out!
Getting to the guildhall is reasonably easy from the church - it's just under a mile
up the road! If you're young, fit and free you could actually walk it in 15-20 minutes!
You can look at it on multimap
but actually the map provided by the guildhall ( At the wedding the Ushers should have maps to direct you to the reception and if you're looking to grab a lift with anyone then they might know a good person to ask too! |
