PartyThe Soul-Cellar is an excellent venue for our post-honeymoon party! Hopefully no-one will forget that it's AFTER our honeymoon and turn up there on the day of our wedding, they might have a good time but they DEFINITELY WON'T be seeing US! The party is aimed at all our friends who like to have a bit of a dance and a laugh, especially those that we couldn't invite to the reception. It's the day before Matthew's 25th birthday so we're celebrating two things with one party. Hopefully it should be an incredibly fun evening and it'll be the first chance for you to meet the all-new Mr & Mrs Evans in an informal setting! We've not confirmed the entertainment yet, but be assured, there will be a live band with a DJ to fill in the gaps when they're taking a break. We're not going to settle for anything less than fun, funky and entertaining - this may also include quite a bit of noise so bring your ear plugs if you're getting on a bit! The Soul-Cellar is actually Matthew's lunch-time haunt and he spends a few days a week there with a few friends and a crossword (sometimes pushing the boat and having a full-fat coke rather than diet... you know, when he's feeling dangerous). Our booking means that we have the upstairs part of the venue exclusively from 7pm until 10:30pm for us to play, sing and make merry - you'll have to pop downstairs to the bar when you want a drink but it's not far and will be sufficiently quiet for you to hear yourself think (and order). After 10:30pm we'll have to open the party up to the public and they'll have one of the Soul-Cellar's resident DJ's playing - they have some serious funk in their trousers so don't worry about the dancing, they'll keep you going all night. Of course, we'll be an 'old married couple' by then so we'll probably chip off home but don't let us stop you going on all night. We'll make sure there's a some food knocking around at the party - we don't want you getting all tired and not able to dance, sing, play, run around and generally enjoy yourselves, but it's not going to be a feast so don't expect roast suckling pig or anything. If you're wanting to make some plans and have no idea where the Soul Cellar is then check out this map. For those of you who know Southampton Centre, it used to be called the Greene Cellar (if that rings any bells) and is at the back of the Square Balloon opposite the Civic Centre. If you walk out of the London Camera Exchance and cross the road it's in the building on your right. |
